We didn’t have much competition though as it wasn’t well attended by other clubs. Unfortunately, I think the wet weather had a lot to do with it. PHOTOS: Well, so far I’ve had NO photos of any members & their bikes? Now I know that none of you are camera shy, so where are they? Please try to remember, maybe bring one to the next meeting? We have a lot of really nice bikes in this club & it would be great to be able to show them off on our website, don’t you think? You could put your photos onto a disc, if that’s easier for you, & give the disc straight to Grumph so he can put them on the website.

Also photos from recent rallies. Alba West, Border Reivers, Kelso Bikefest, Crosshouse Hospital run, Studs in the mud, & any others you were at? PLEASE !!! I know you were there, I’ve heard the stories, I’ve heard the rumours! Let’s see the photographic evidence ! HA HA ! Something about a member with multicoloured pubic hair?????? Mmmm, wonder who that could have been eh ??????

May 11th 2006: Big Jock is having a bit of a 50th do after all, by having a wee night in the Myle this Saturday night, 13th May. Guess he'll be singing that old Police number, "BORN IN THE 50s".

There is club run on Sunday 14th, meeting at B&Q car park, Stevenston/ Kilwinning roundabout at high noon. (Call a club member to be sure of time).

The Hillbillies have organised a rock / party night in the Ballochmyle Inn, Mauchline on Saturday night, May 20th, to thank Mag & Norrie for all the support they have given the club in the past few years. The pub changes hands in early June. We would like to wish Steven all the best on his new venture. Rock disco with Alec 'n' Grumph. This is also a fundraiser, so any raffle prizes will be appreciated.

Mauchline Holy Fair falls on the following weekend, ie Sat 27th May. There is a disco in the Ballochmyle both the Sat 27th and Sunday 28th, for anyone who has any money left after the weekend!

Next club meeting, Wednesday 31st May, usual 7.30 for 8. Let's hope for the sun again, as it certainly brought the bikes out last time
.

Club web pages now have a new FORUM for members and non members to chat. See links at the right hand side of this page as well as the home page.

THANKS - We’ve had letters of thanks from Hansel Village & Malcolm Sargent House for all our donations at Easter time. In total we raised £1330 (EXCELLENT!)

WEB SITE - I would like to thank Canadian Bob for all his hard work, in the past, on the website. Cheers mate! He has now stepped down & Grumph has taken over. Thanks to you Grumph for your latest updates. The egg run pics are great. Keep up the good work pal! If anyone has any pics from the egg run, the party later that night, or from the dance, could you please put them on a disc & give them to Grumph for the photo gallery? Don’t e mail them to him, as he still has a manky old dial up connection, and hi res images take an age to download. Ta.

CLUB NEWS - The dance, last Fri. was a great night. Everyone seemed to enjoy it & we made a good sum for the club. The O.C.Chopper sweatshirt from the New York fire dept was auctioned off & raised £51.00. Thanks to all who brought something for the raffle. We had more prizes this time & it looked much better!

We now have a club GAZEBO, (£80.00 from Homebase) & big enough to party in! We’re all set for our summer camp now!

OTHER NEWS - As most of you probably know, Pauline from the Loudon club has recently had a bad bike accident & is in a bit of a bad way. Julie took her a big bouquet of flowers from the Hillbillies to let her know that we’re all thinking of her & we hope she gets better soon.

RALLIES - The Ayrshire Touring MCC are holding their STUDS IN THE MUDS 2 rally on Sat 29th July at Troon rugby club, in Fullarton Woods. Gates open for camping at high noon. Tickets are £8.00 pre booked or £10.00 on the gate. The band will be a mix of Big Licks & Five Wheel Drive as well as Grumph & Alex with their rock disco. YEH HEY! I can even take MY bike to this one!

NEXT MEETINGS - Wed 10th MAY & Wed 31st May. 7.30pm for 8pm.

Lesley

May 2nd 2006: A successful and enjoyable night was had on Friday 28th April in Mauchline Club. "THE USUAL SUSPECTS" were joined by "FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK" disco till closing time. The next big indoor event is in November, and features rock band "FIVE WHEEL DRIVE", again in Mauchline's Kilmarnock Supporters Club. A couple of photos only available, mainly because too much rock and roll made for an over enthusiastic interest in the bar!

April 18th 2006: After a successful weekend, a few photos have been uploaded to the club web pages from the Easter egg run on Sunday 16th. Bikes left The Ballochmyle Inn about 1250. A rock night was held in the Ballochmyle Inn afterwards, from about 8pm till late. It was quite a lively night, and everyone seemed to have a great old time. This is the first time there has been a hillbillie event where the no smoking ban was in effect, but it seems to create two parties. One in the pub, and one outside the door!!

Our wishes go out to Pauline of Loudoun MCC after her accident. We all wish her a speedy recovery.

April 13th 2006:
After a long 6 month period of zero input/ change, this web site is again moving onwards.

Brief news... our annual Easter Egg Run takes place on Saturday 15th April. Meeting outside the Ballochmyle Inn, Mauchline at high noon, for 1230. This year we visit Hansel Village, Crosshouse Hospital, and Malcolm Sargent's. Afterwards this will be followed by a rock / party night at the Ballochmyle Inn , starting around 6 or 7pm.

The Easter party this year brings "The Usual Suspects" rock band, as well as a Thin Lizzy tribute band. All this in addition to a rock disco to start the ball rolling. The gig takes place in the main hall, Kilmarnock Supporters Club, Mauchline, Friday night 28th April. Tickets are £5, and doors open about 7pm.

The guest book has been out of commission for some time, reason unknown, should be replaced by the time you read this. Apologies for the time it has been off line. It will also probably be complimented by a FORUM which members and non members alike can use. Keep watching these pages.

Another suggestion put forward for the web site, is a few pages with photos of members and their bikes. Anyone not wanting their photos on the web site, of course will have their wishes respected. Again, more later.

Input is required for this web site. It can not be run on imagination. Diary dates at least and club news are required. News/ events updates should now be e mailed to: <kenny[AT]ayrshirehistory.net> Copy the address and substitute [AT] for @. Unfortunately this arrangement is required these days to prevent automated spam/ junk mail. Only text e mails should be sent to that address, no file attachments will be accepted. A new e mail address is set up for club commitee members all to use. This is found on the contact page.

Ayrshire Touring MCC are having another rally at Troon Rugby Club. The event takes place on Sat 29th July 2006. A rock disco and band based around Big Licks/ Five Wheel Drive are planned as per last years successful camp. More details will be available shortly.

November 2005:
NEW MEMBERS: Welcome to Arthur Pollock, from Cumnock. Membership total is now 57.

ANNUAL DANCE: Our Christmas dance will be held in the Mauchline and District Killmarnock F.C. supporters club on Friday 25th Nov from 7:30pm till late. Tickets are £5 at the door. Rock disco with Alex & Grumph, followed by Live Rock Band "THE FULL HOGG"

CONGRATULATIONS: To Stewart & Liz on their engagement. Also to Susan on the birth of her new son, Lewis. (a lovely wee brother for Liam)

May 29th 2005: A charity event recently took place for the benefit of the Lindsay Armstrong support group. This organisation has been founded by her parents after her rape/ court ordeal to help other victims. Although clashing with the Hogg Rally the event was well attended in the Ballochmyle Inn, Mauchline. Thank you to all concerned for arranging this evening, which also clashed with Mauchline's Holy Fair. All in all a very busy night for the village.

Easter Sunday 2005 saw our successful Easter Egg run. A Special thank you to Loudoun MCC for their assistance during the course of events, as well as to Norrie and Margaret at the Ballochmyle Inn for their hospitality afterwards.

February 2005: New look to the web site, and the redesigned front end looks a lot better. There is a new guestbook, after it was discovered that the old one had timed out. The new one seems to be off line a lot though, reason unknown. A new counter has also been added, and this page should be updated regularly with the latest club news.

MEETINGS: Our meetings are the last Wednesday of every month in the Ballochmyle Inn, Mauchline. 7:30pm for 8pm.
